WITHS2 is approaching our 6th year and our fans’ support has always been the main driving force for us to work harder. With countless hours subbing in the past years and an increasing number of dramas, our team is a bit worn out with more of our veteran team subbers talking about time off and retirement. So for some major recharge, WITHS2 subbers are going on a team retreat to Korea in August!

Despite being adapted from an American program, it looks as though the challenges will be more suited towards its Korean designers and audiences (whatever that means).

Among the competitors are some designers who’ve studied at Western fashion schools, while others have learned in Korea. Some are older students who embarked on their dream a little later, some have been unemployed, one is a mother with a young baby, and so forth.

Host is supermodel Lee Sora, while other judges include designer Kim Seok-won and ELLE Korea editor Shin Yoo-jin. (Also present in Episode 1 is a former U.S. Project Runway contestant from the fourth season, the (sour-faced and crabby-cakes) designer of Korean descent, Victoria Hong.)

The show premieres on cable channel On Style Friday, February 7.

Drama Review Contest Winners

Thank you all so much for taking the time to add your reviews for our Drama Reviews Contest.  It’s already helped some of our own team members decide to give some dramas a try.  And thanks for your feedback that we should make the reviews more visible.  We’ll definitely work on that.  It was truly difficult to select winners, and we tried to pick reviewers who we felt could help the most people in general.  There were some beautifully written and entertaining reviews (especially in the IRIS thread) that did not make this list.  We’ve picked 3 t-shirt winners below, and randomly drew one of the 3 for a custom design if the winners should want one.  You all will be getting a follow up email …

You’re Beautiful marks WITHS2′s 100th completed drama subtitling project! We’re celebrating by launching our new reviews postings where YOU can add your own reviews on the dramas we’ve subtitled.

We always get asked recommendations on which dramas to watch, but believe it or not, a lot of us are too busy subbing to get to watch a lot of dramas. Sooooo, why not help each other decide what to watch by sharing your thoughts on the dramas you loved … or hated?

To help get the ball rolling and get the reviews bubbling, we’re giving away t-shirts to the top 3 reviewers!

THE RULES

1. Go to any of the drama review pages. You can pull-down and select “Your Reviews” from the category pulldown menu on the right or go to the Projects page and click on the Reviews links on the table. There should also be links on the drama subtitle pages.
2. Select a star rating and write a review in the comments area. Your review should be substantial enough to share your opinions. If you can do it in a couple sentences, that’s fine, but because we have the star ratings for general popularity, we’d like to avoid reviews like “I liked it. It was exciting”. Please keep it no more than 4 or 5 paragraphs, though.
3. We will pick the top 3 on January 10,2010 ( which is also our 4th anniversary). We will judge not by quantity, but quality! This doesn’t mean you have to be a great writer or have any fabulous insights – it just means that your review should be useful to others.

WITH S2 would like to thank all of our fans and friends who have donated and otherwise supported us in sustaining our efforts and our site. As a Thank You, we have set up what we call VIA Access to Extras on our web site. VIA stands for Very Important Angel, and it is via you angels that we can continue to provide subs for these addicting Korean Dramas.
