Honestly, I only watched this drama because Kyuhyun sang one of the OSTs and Ryeowook kept on promoting it on twitter. The idea of it being about bread is just beyond me but still I gave it a try. Of all the dramas I’ve watched[I've watched A LOT], this is the best. The plot has been thoroughly planned. You can see that everyone who made this drama possible, gave lots of effort in this one. I’ve watched this 5 times(?) already and I still like it. The actors played their characters really well; you can feel the emotion just by looking at their eyes. There are lots of things going on but everything’s connected to each other and it’s not messy at all. I learned a lot from this drama. It’s really beautiful. Even my friends [and their families] who are not into kdramas enjoyed this drama. My mom even forced me to watch it with her until morning. If you’re a drama lover, it would be a waste to miss this. Definitely a must watch!
So thankful to withs2 for the subs! You guys are the best!
i love to watch this drama…..im hoping this drama ends good although are like50 more episodes..from malaysia…

SUPERB drama…
watched it from start to end without feeling bored whatsoever.
At times i even felt sad for the poor Tak gu N his mum having to live such miserable life…
Scenario was simply addictive and passionate, the casts were very much in the storyline!!
One of the best drama of 2010…
i love this!!!!!! god bless to all cast,!!

i want a copy of DVD to watch it again
the series is amazing.
This one is terrific! It really moved my heart. I recommend this series to everyone out there, and I’m sure you will never blame me afterwards.. I’ve spent almost two days watching the whole movie, leaving me only 4 hours to take a nap. You’ll be curious and at the same time excited of what will happen on the next episodes. I’ll guarantee all of you guys, you’ll not just gonna be entertained, you’ll learn a lot of good values that will make you a better person.
Ah, I can see why it was the nation’s drama. I started watching it and it was already intense! The storyline is really good and idk it was really inspirational. Although it was really long, it was so totally worth it. very episode, I was just excited. Definitely a drama that needs to be watched by everyone!
I am so blessed to watch this drama.. all episodes has their own twists that you would not want to miss.. Not only the story is good but the filming as well.. i liked the cuts and how they rewind what happened previously.. i love the concept.. i am not a bread fan but i liked it when i watched this drama.. this only teacjes us that in everything we do, we must do it by heart.. then and only then we can succeed.. I hope Filipinos will be able to produce this kind of drama.. either baking, cooking, sports, arts, and many more.. I hope we can also produce dramas that show humility, understanding and forgiveness.. and i hope we can produce a drama which we cannot predict what the ending will be..
this is the most wonderful drama of 2010.. hoping i can watch more dramas like this.. wher u can laugh with it, cry with it and most especially LEARN WITH IT.. to all who mad ethis drama.. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!
Oh wow, I loved this drama, so much. Right now my top dramas for 2010 are Gumiho, Sungkyunkwan Scandal, Fugitive, and of course: BAKER KING!! I didn’t actually start watching until it was over, but I knew I had to because of the insanely good ratings it was getting. I mean, if I can like a drama with low ratings, why wouldn’t I with high ones? Anyways, At first I was kind of bored with it, and stopped, but then revisited it a couple of weeks later and fell in love. I thought the childhood part was a little slow, and the recap it so much later on, so I didn’t really watch all of it, but from the time skip on, I was completely glued. Such a good drama with dynamic characters and an original plot. Love.
At first, I skipped this title due to the fact that I am not into cheeky dramas like this that centers on bread and stuff
) But then, I tried the first episode and I easilly got hooked. Yoon Si Yoon is new to me but then I already love him ü great acting here.
I recommend this drama for those who wanted to try something new ü
First of all, thanks to sub teams. At first I didn’t bother about the drama title as I watched it on KBS World channel. While I am watching the childhood episode, I fascinated by the dialect spoken by younger Tak Gu. As I notice, it’s not a common dialect in Korean Drama that I had watched before. So, I keep watching the series. Truthfully, it is the best drama for 2010 so far. Even my friends who don’t bother to watch Korean drama, eager to know what happen in next episode.
This is the best series that I watch so far. Everything was perfect. From the acting to the stories. Every characters in the story have issues they must overcome. There are alot of plot and twists that will make you crazy waiting for the next episodes. Only the first few episodes may be boring but once there is the time skip you will freaken enjoy the series and will miss it when it ends. Gonna be buying once the official dvd is out.
Thank you for making good things about this sub. I like that much.
I waited and hoped that the team will do withs2 ep.special
I just finished the drama. Although I appreciated the ending and the drama’s good, virtuous message, I thought it was way over-written and over-acted. It had me rolling my eyes more than feeling emotional. Like it was either too ridiculous or too predictable. Not my cup of tea.
I have watched many dramas and this has to ranked amongst the best! Every episode is filled with so much drama, emotions and plot twists; all beautifully tied down by the great, humanistic, sincere soul that is Kim Tak Goo. I can’t recommend this enough to any Korean and non-Korean speaking friends alike!
My Wife and I are very excited with the next episodes of Kim Tak Gu, unfortunately the subtitles are only upto episode 22, we are restless for the next 2 episodes subtitles he he he he, tnx, keep up the good work. very nice drama. we laugh, cried, got mad,we were like crazy people at home , tnx again
for the people who are about to watch this drama: WATCH IT!!! it’a worth it!!
Hopefully I’m not spoiling (just wanna give a review for people who are about to watch!)
Every episode just makes u want to watch more and more. I like how they put a lot of details behind their younger years, which makes people understand the relationships of the characters in this drama. it’s not draggy for me, but a few episodes were a ‘lil too fast/confusing (you’ll know what i mean when u see this drama) but u’ll be over those parts of the drama when u keep watching the next. (YOU WON’T EVEN CARE, ‘coz it’s THAT good!!) trust me, who has watched a gazillion dramas over the past years! XD
This is really worth the watch and ur time! It’s really inspiring, funny, and sad (will actually make u cry. I DID!)
SO WATCH NOW!! It’s one of the best dramas i’ve seen.
I really try my best to watch every TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY “Kim Tak Gu”.I’m excited to see the revival of role of “Kim Tak Gu’s” mother in the next episodes. I have a feeling that she’ll have a very relevant role
in “Gu Family’s” shareholdings, giving her voting rights!
Some of the best acting I have seen in a kdrama in a long time. Take my word for it when I say this is an excellent pick to watch. You get a really great cast, suprises and cliffhangers in every episode, and there is a LOT going on in the storyline. You will not want to miss out.
This is coming from someone who has seen more asian drama’s than I can count.
This is one of those dramas that people will tell you not to miss…and they are right. If you like Korean dramas you will love this show. It’s number one in the ratings for a reason. It draws you in from the first few minutes and you can’t wait for more. I can almost smell the bread.I watch this show and admitidly, I can see it’s a bit over the top and cheesy, yet I love every minute.
Kim Tak Goo is a character that you will root for because he is so full of heart and spirit. There are those who have wanted him gone since before his birth, yet despite his hardships he remains unsinkable. His destiny is bigger than any hate from jealous people. They cannot stop what was meant to be and it’s a joy to watch it unfold. Knowing that this was based on the real life of the Paris Baquette founder, makes it all the more compelling. I can’t wait for more.
At first I was iffy about watching this drama. The trailer didn’t peak my interest at all, especially with the theme about bread making. But I decided to give it a try and to my surprise the story had sucked me in quickly. I absolutely love that a lot happens within one episode leaving you clenching your teeth and wondering what will happen next. Ive seen more dramas than I can count in Korean, Taiwanese/Chinese and Japanese, and this one I will definitely say will not be a waste of your time. Hopefully towards the middle/end of this series, the story won’t start to drag out.
So far I’m liking this drama. It has a good story line and I like how it is based on a real story. I love watching this Drama. So far of all dramas I’ve seen this is the one that you will always want to re-watch. It’s good how they made the mother appear again but in a better form (more wealthy). I’m hoping this drama ends good although there are like 30 more or so episodes.
