  Does anyone knows from where I can download the complete episodes of this? I am trying http://www.picktorrents.com now, but it is almost 10 days now, and still I only have 3.00 GB downloaded over 91.41 GB, can somebody help me to seeds more….Or do u have any other torrentsites for this drama?   Be consolated by the fact that what is on viikii.com is worse than what you provide. Anyway, your work is highly appreciated, it least one can uderstand what’s going on in these wonderful films.

  What I am trying with my Hungarian subtitles is to make a compromise between matching Korean titles, functions, ways of speaking with Hungarian habits of the same historical period (this enables our people to better understand your culture without a university diploma in Korean history) and reproducing to the viewer the particularities of your place. One has to bear in mind that these subtitles are short, usually 3-5 seconds, so there is no time for extra explanations for the average viewer.

  Hello!

  I am watching some of Sout-Korean films with subtitles provide by you.
  I don’t know Korean, so I cannot fully assess the quality of these fansubs, but there are serious problems with them.
  Right now, for example, I am watching Dong Yi and I read about Councilor, when that position is certainly that of Prime Minister, or better Lord High Steward, if we want to give some kind of historical authenticity to the English text.
  Also, the chief of courts it’s Assistant Director for you, when the correct translation would be Lord Chancellor, or Minister of Justice.

  Also, your fansubs often treat Highness (a title given for princes) as if being the same as Majesty (the title given only to kings, queens and queens dowager).

  Also, there is a complete mess as it regards Emperror and King. During the Joseon dinasty Goryo/Korea was a vassal state of China, so the correc title is King, not Emperror, even if they sometimes used the unrecognized title of Emperror.
  Another example: you are writing about Registration Archive when in fact that is a Border Defence Plan etc.

  The great problem with your English subtitles is that these mistakes are transmitted onwards to other languages. I for one have watched Queen Seondeok with Hungarian subtitles provided by a fansubber who used your English fansubs, and worked hard to fix them, since there was a total confusion. The original translator had the excuse of using your fansubs, as if they were something impeccable.

  Actually, if you want these films to be well received and understood, you need to match Middle Age Korean titles and functions with the ones used in Europe in the same period. The common standard must be the English custom, as that is less or more understood by all people.

  as a student of korean i can only imagine how long it would have taken to not only translate, but interpret the choseon language style and proverbs into a similar style of english. this is really good work and worth a donation thanks for your time and effort.
