SYNOPSIS:
Secret Investigation Record is based on cases detailed in the Annals of Joseon History with a bizarre twist; these incidents incorporate mysterious, supernatural elements that cannot be explained through science. Kim Hyung Do is an inspector of the state whose single-minded focus on his investigations into administrative misdeeds bring him into direct contact with these strange mysteries. Heo Yoon Yi is a government employee who aids him and attempts to understand these scientific impossibilities with an open mind, in contrast to his cynicism.

For Ep. 6 though, is there any way you can upload the subs for the HiFRiEND version? I could only find the video for HiFRiEND, but noticed that there are only softsubs for G.
The day I find an “unknown word” and litter subtitles with symbols of that kind, I’ll quit being a subtitler. You’ll never see that from me. I never left a single spot in 4 years and over 500 subtitles.
About geun… you’re partly right, but not in this context. Geun is the Korean rendition of Jin (斤, kati in Malay), the unit of weight called catty in English, which is indeed 604 grams. But it was “upgraded” to 600 grams only in the Northern Song Dynasty, as it was 222 (or better, 223) until then with the exception of a few decades during the Tang Dynasty, when it was 666 grams. They’re 1000 geun from the Shilla Dynasty, so old Han Dynasty nomenclature, hence 222 grams.
Oh, and I’m not really a pudding fan .. Probably that’s why I missed the proof?
Now I understand about the *, I thought it was more like “unknown word”. Apparently, a mistake of the site where I saw the drama, they did not add the part that has an explanation for the words marked with *. There were words I would like to know their meaning (had to guess), by the way, from what I know is equal to 600 grams, but if it 222 grams or 600 grams, I do not think it matters much to anyone lol. Anyway, although I am not the one who used your subtitles directly, yet, thanks for the explanation, and of course thank you for subbing.

The * exactly signifies the explanation of what gEUn means, which will show up on top if you use these subtitles as they were intended, and that is softsubs with Media Player Classic, Videolan, Tok Player etc. If you watch them online and the site’s interface cannot comprehend a6 SRT commands, that’s not our problem. It’s yours and that of the streaming site you watched it on.
I’m currently watching the drama Secret Investigation Record online, with built-in translation done by you. I came across the word “Guen” and the symbol * next to him, for the sign * I have no idea what it represents, and for “Guen” I do not know if you know or not what “Guen” stands for, but either way, it signifies weight. For example, this sentence from the drama: “a thousand-geun * gold bullion was discovered in the area”, thousand-geun is equivalent to 600 ㎏. Maybe you know but not everyone knows, the next time you encounter with this word, and to help us understand more, you can add a line of translation with an explanation that will appear at the top of the screen, or directly translate Guen per kilogram. It’s not that important but just in case

You have a different version of the raw. Both CHAN and HiFRiEND raws have ads somewhere around 32 min so the “missing lines” you are referring to have been pushed `a little over a minute forward. You and I probably have the same raw so if you want to re-synch (http://withs2.com/help#sync), you only need to re-synch from line 312 which should start at 00:32:23,300.

You most likely have a different raw version.
I checked and the subs synch perfectly fine with the G raw and several seconds ahead with the HiFRIEND raw.
You need to re-synch ( http://withs2.com/help#sync ) or download the same version (G as indicated above).
