    Love the plot, which made me want to watch it. The little girl was so adorable. I felt their chemistry.
    Since this was a romantic comedy. This drama wasan’t as funny as I thought it would be, some parts were unexpectedly funny.
    The last episode was a bit eh for me. I didn’t feel the love throughout the entire episode until the end. When he tried to propose to her it felt fake to me. I wanted to see a resolution to his conflicts. The ending felt rushed. Loved it overall.

    I was about an abs exposure away from an overdose of Choi Si Won’s 6-pack which most women would probably find more intoxicating than your regular beer. In that light, “Oh My Abs” might’ve been a more appropriate title for this drama. I highly doubt anyone would complain if his finely chiseled mid-section makes an impromptu appearance in just about every episode. I guess, it was purposely done to ease up such a slow kinda’ dragging start. Even so, Si Won has got to be the hottest dad to grace tv drama.

    Things only started picking up at episode 4 when Min Woo and Gae Hwa mutually agreed for the latter to be the “substitute mother” (a.k.a. nanny) to Min Woo’s alleged daughter. Dare I say that I saw a glint of comedic potential on Si Won in this particular scene when he was unbelievably outraged at Gae Hwa for even considering that he wanted for her to be the “mother” of his child. Then, he suddenly flips back to amateur mode with that fabricated conflicted façade of his (almost looking like he’s smiling due to inefficient acting?) in that cheesy ending of episode 5 where he punches his manager, Kim Hee Won, (Jung Yoon Suk) and grabs Gae Hwa out. He really needs to work on that furrowed brow bit which just looks so darn insincere. He makes up for it though with his cute, self-reflecting monologue after a “chilly” kiss with Gae Hwa in episode 7.

    I’m really miffed that yet again a celebrity manager paints another ugly picture of a star-manager relationship. I’ve had more than enough of that watching “Star’s Lover” so, I was hoping by now dramas would try to steer clear of such a stereotypical dynamic. Or is it just too overwhelmingly real in the Korean entertainment world that doing otherwise would be a tad too unrealistic? I truly hope not. I just fail to see the sense out of staying in and enduring such a self-destructive connection. I mean, a manager who doesn’t even have the confidence in his own talent has disaster spelled all over it. But I did like Hee Won’s sudden “Don’t cry.” twist with uber adorable Ye Eun (Min Woo’s child) because it was so unexpected and uncharacteristic.

    On the one hand, I never imagined Moon Jung Hee would be such a perfect choice to play Han Jung Ah. I last saw her in “My Sweet Seoul” and she had the ahjumma thing going but as Jung Ah, she is one sensual dancer of a wife. I totally see how she can get younger men to drool over her and even have an affair with one to boot. That’s the reason why I find it funny how she says “Let’s talk.” to husband Yoo Shi Joon (Lee Hyun Woo) so many times and yet never get the answer that she wants.

    As for Kim Byung Hak (Yoo Tae Woong), I was sorely tempted to dice and chop him to a million little pieces. The chauvinistic pig has the personality of a pumice you’d wish you could just also scrub him away. He makes a 360 degree turn in the end but I’m still confused how Gae Hwa could be such a bad judge of character to have such a jerk for an ex-husband. While we’re at it, why don’t we complete the conventional antagonist mix with Hong Yu Ra (Park Han Byul)?! She comes off the villain mold like an express fastfood meal, you could almost predict what she says next or when she’s going to spew lava. Except for still liking Min Woo despite knowing he has a child, the lack of any likable or unique trait on Yu Ra is really disappointing. With her unquenchable thirst for attention, I wonder why she didn’t just jump on her own superstar wagon instead of riding on Min Woo’s. If you like your villains pretentious, not so smart and utterly phony then, you’re sure to enjoy Yu Ra. She’s got them all and more.

    Chae Rim seems to be starring in a string of older women – younger men themed dramas lately. It was fun watching her and Lee Min Ki in “Dalja’s Spring” and she’s in the same predicament with this series, only now she’s a divorced mom. I’m not sure if she’s overplaying the ahjumma role a little too much. The hair and wardrobe should’ve sufficed but she seems to have decided on taking on “ahjumma” speaking lessons, as well. The sing-song was tolerable but can be quite annoying at times. I felt like a 5 year old listening to her deliver her lines. Her nickname “Meddler” is so fitting because she’s taken it upon herself to stick her nose where it should not be. It was more irritating than amusing. And is it just me who finds it weird that she decided on her own to let Yu Ra “borrow” Ye Eun? She plays a mom herself so it seems she’s lacking the basics of childcare or maybe just a convenient loophole to give way to Min Woo’s public reveal for his daughter. Still, the writer should’ve come up with something more sensible and creative than letting Miss The-World-Revolves-Around-Me goddess babysit so; we can all have a pretty obvious outcome. Same is true on that Daily Scandal reporter who suddenly publishes a tribute-like report on Min Woo after stalking him for scandals as if his life depended on it.

    One of this series’ few good points is it showed how Gae Hwa’s resilience earned her the respect and acknowledgment from her colleagues who were initially indifferent and slightly hostile towards her. One of their break scenes even touched up on reality showing how sometimes discreetly criticizing the boss can perhaps help an outcast win votes from her peers. Another is finding lost Ye Eun holding on to the hand of Min Woo’s life-size standee. She barely has any lines in the drama but the child delivers touching more effectively than the rest of the cast.

    I know this is supposed to be a rom-com series but after that nice jumpstart of sparks between Min Woo and Gae Hwa in episode 7, the rest of the drama was somehow drought of romance. About 2 episodes away from ending, Min Woo was still confused on his “strange” feelings for Gae Hwa while the latter still hasn’t shown signs of any deep affection for him beyond liking his slow but remarkable decision to finally embrace fatherhood. I also did not note any significantly hilarious scenes from this series so; the comedy department is something that is evidently lacking, as well. The last 2 episodes pick up the Gae Hwa-Min Woo chemistry again but fell short from making up for its absence in the preceding 7 episodes.

    I’m rather sure girls wouldn’t mind watching a flawed drama if that means feasting your eyes on Si Won’s well crafted physique so, go knock yourselves out.

    at first, i couldn’t get into the drama. i watched the first episode several times, but by episode 2 or 3, i started to get into it. there were a few surprises here and there, but not to be extremely wow’ed about. i agree with kelly regarding the typical roles. as always, it takes a while to rev up the story line where things get good, but as always, the ending is always short and too sudden. writers and directors should really put more work into happy endings. the ending was all but 5 minutes long, what a bummer. perhaps these dramas should take a few tips from stephanie meyer in ending plots better, so viewers are more content. but over all, i enjoyed the series.

    ::Plot::
    The plot is very easy to follow; there are no real surprises or major twists. It has everything to classify it as a cliché drama. Ex-girlfriends, big secrets, the poor female lead, the rich male lead, constant misunderstandings etc. Whilst it is classified as a romance drama, I don’t really see it that way. To me it was more about the growth of the two main characters and realising that they can depend on each other.

    ::Characters/Acting::
    The acting was very pleasant. The actors did a fine job portraying the characters they where casted for. The annoying people were annoying, the children were adorable, the main leads were able to switch their personalities at a drop of a hat. I was quite impressed.

    I would recommend this drama for someone who wants something easy and pleasant. Perfect to get your mind off work (in my case university assessments) and other stressful things.

    oh no, one more episode to go… sad it will end. this was a really good series, pleasant to watch, and easy on the nerves! good story, pretty good acting… great looking characters…. and the ever adorable Ye-eun was a delight to watch. this drama was a welcomed respite from the cut-throat over-dramatized vilified dramas of late.

    The subplots were also good… eg, estranged relation between the president and wife, strained relation between the star and manager. the goofball reporter was very funny and well-played. Also, lead actor Min-woo was really well played, from cocky superstar to the coy dad.

    only slight complain was the all-too-clean, angelic, holier-than-thou character of Yoon Gae-hwa. a little too perfect perhaps.

    all in all, i give it an 8 1/2.
