This is a totally great kdrama. It has great acting, great production values and great writing. The stellar cast is led by a charismatic performance by Lee Bum Soo. It looks like no expense was spared in the production — the quality is cinematic. There are two plot contrivances which somewhat mar the writing. But, this may be due to the translation rather than the fault of the writer(s) since the quality of the writing is otherwise excellent The direction is fast paced. Each episode is gripping. It’s one of my top 3 kdramas — the other two are “The City Hall”and “Life is Beautiful”. So, if you’ve enjoyed those two, there’s an excellent chance you will enjoy “Surgeon Bong Dal Hee”.
